One of basic goals of science is to acquire appropriate explanations for occurrences and regularities in studied reality. The explanation of certain occurrence is based on finding regularity, which in essence is the interest of the science and it enables its development and progress.
The way to find appropriate, successful explanations in science is one of key question of philosophy of science and methodology of science. One of basic functions of scientific knowledge is the prediction of occurrences in certain area. Even though science in last couple hundred years recorded great growth, until today there are still numerous questions that still remain without an answer.
